Android app
MSGView for Android
Open Outlook .msg, .eml, winmail.dat and signed .p7m files on your Android phone. Tap the attachment in Gmail, Outlook or your file manager, choose Open with → MSGView, and read the email with its attachments. It is the same app as this website, works offline, and the file never leaves the phone.

- Prints an email or saves it as PDF through Android's print dialog.
- Speaks your phone's language: 13 languages.
Privacy
The app reads your files on the phone and never sends them anywhere. It goes online for two things. Once a day it asks msgview.app whether a newer version exists. And it counts anonymous usage and errors in our own cookieless counter (Umami, on our server): what happened, as a name from a fixed list (such as “file opened” or “save failed”); the type of error, from a fixed list (such as “out of memory” or “not an Outlook file”); the file type, from a fixed list; rough ranges instead of sizes and counts (some actions are counted once per item, so a count can be added up); whether the file displayed correctly, the writing system shown, and a few yes/no flags; the app version and the Android version; the language; and fixed values that name the app. Our server sees your IP address and uses it for an approximate location (country, region and city) and a visitor value that changes every month; the server logs keep it for one to two months. The file, its name, its contents and any address in it are never sent. Counting cannot be switched off in the app. Everything the email shows is blocked from the network.
Updates
When a new version is out, the app tells you. Download it from this page and install it over the old one; your phone checks that it is signed with the same key. A copy from Google Play, if we publish one later, is signed differently and cannot update this one, or the other way round.
