What's new in MSGView

Every feature we add, newest first — what it does, why it is there and where to read how to use it. MSGView is free, runs in your browser, and your files never leave your device.

German and EU e-invoices: XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, Factur-X

· v1.2

Open an XRechnung (.xml, UBL or CII) or a ZUGFeRD / Factur-X PDF and read it as a normal invoice: seller, line items, VAT, totals and payment details. Save it as PDF or export the line items as CSV. A plausibility check shows whether the required fields are there and the amounts add up — it is not an official validation. If the invoice arrived as an email attachment, press Open next to it: it opens in place, and Back returns to the email.

How to use it:

Clearer messages when a file cannot be opened

· v1.1.2

If a file cannot be opened, MSGView now says why in your language: the file is empty, it is really a PDF, an image or a zip, or it is a cloud placeholder that has not been downloaded yet (OneDrive, iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox) — and what to do about it.

How to use it:

A winmail.dat file on its own now opens

· v1.1.1

A winmail.dat saved on its own used to show an empty message. Now MSGView unpacks it and gives you the real attachments and the text inside.

How to use it:

Signed files: .p7m, .p7s, .tsd, .m7m

· v1.1

Open digitally signed files — Italian PEC mail, FatturaPA invoices, signed PDFs — and get the original document back. MSGView shows what the signing certificate says, but does not verify the signature. Signed attachments inside an email open in place too.

How to use it:

PDF export in every script

· v1.0.1

Converting emails to PDF now keeps Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese, Japanese and other scripts intact, including when you convert several files at once.

How to use it:

MSGView launches

· v1.0

Open Outlook .msg and .eml emails in any browser, without Outlook or Microsoft 365. Read the message, save attachments, convert to PDF, EML, HTML or text, or extract every attachment as a .zip. Attachments hidden in winmail.dat are recovered. Available in 13 languages.
