DICOM viewer in your browser, nothing to install
Clinics hand out CT, MRI and X-ray images on a CD or as a folder of .dcm files. MSGView shows them in your browser: series, slices, brightness and contrast, and saves an image as PNG or JPG. For viewing only, not for diagnosis. The images are not uploaded anywhere.
Drag DICOM files or a whole folder here
A CD folder, single .dcm files, or files without an extension.
The example opens a built-in synthetic scan, so you can see the viewer first. For viewing only, not for diagnosis.

View a DICOM CD in 3 steps
- Open the folder Press “Open a folder…” and choose the CD or the folder with the images (or drag it onto the page).
- Choose a series Series are listed on the left. Move through the slices with the slider, the mouse wheel or the arrow keys.
- Adjust and save Change brightness and contrast or pick a preset, then save the image as PNG or JPG, or all slices as a ZIP.
For viewing, not diagnosis
MSGView is not a medical device. It is meant for looking at your own images and sharing a picture of them; a diagnosis needs your doctor and certified software.
Patient data stays hidden
The patient's name, date of birth and other details are shown only after “Show details”. Saved images and their file names contain no patient data.
What opens
Uncompressed images, RLE and baseline JPEG, in grayscale (MONOCHROME1 and 2) and colour, single and multi-frame. JPEG 2000 and JPEG Lossless are not supported yet; the viewer says so instead of showing a wrong image.
Questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. The files are read in your browser's memory. Nothing is sent to a server.
The CD has a DICOMDIR file. What now?
Open the whole folder that contains it. The viewer finds the images by their content, also files without an extension.
Can I measure distances?
No. This viewer is for looking and saving pictures; measurement and diagnosis need certified software.
