Open an .oft file without Outlook
An .oft file is an Outlook template: a saved email that Outlook uses as a starting point for new messages. Without Outlook it will not open. MSGView shows the email it contains, with its text and attachments, right in your browser, and the file never leaves your device.
Open an .oft file in 3 steps
- Open MSGViewGo to msgview.app in any browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone or Android. Nothing to install, no account.
- Drop the .oft fileDrag the template onto the page. If it arrived inside another email (.msg or .eml), drop that email and press Open next to the attachment.
- Read or saveYou see the subject, the text and the attachments. Save it as PDF, HTML or EML, or save the attachments.
What is an .oft file?
An .oft (Outlook File Template) has the same inside as an Outlook .msg email. It is used for messages people send again and again, such as forms, newsletters or replies. MSGView marks it as a template, so you know it is not an email somebody sent you.
Private by design
The template is opened in your browser's memory and is never uploaded. You can check this in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools.

Yes. Drop it on msgview.app and you see the email inside it, with its attachments. Nothing is installed.
Can I edit the template and send it?
No. MSGView is a viewer: it shows the template and can save it as PDF, HTML or EML, but it does not edit or send email.
The .oft came as an attachment in an email. What now?
Drop the whole email on MSGView and press Open next to the .oft attachment. Back returns to the email.
